Your MetabolicMD affiliated doctor does not require you to take a lab test prior to prescribing GLP-1 medications to you. However, to help your doctor create a baseline of your current metabolic health, so both you and your doctor can work towards improving your metabolic health, you will be required to to return your at-home lab test kit within 30-days of being prescribed your medication which you can complete from the comfort of your home. You can also visit a local Quest or Labcorp office near you to complete your lab test if you prefer. You'll be provided both options at checkout and there is a small additional fee for your lab test.

We offer both Semaglutide and Tirzepatide GLP-1 weight loss medications. Semaglutide has the same active incredient in Ozempic® and Wegovy® and Tirzepatide has the same active ingredient in Mounjaro® and Zepbound®. You will be provided general guidelines for weekly dosage of your medication, however dosage is highly individualized since everyone responds differently to GLP-1 medications. Your doctor will likely start you off at the lowest recommended weekly dose unless you've previously been prescribed and already taking GLP-1 medications at a higher dose. Based on your feedback during your online monthly check-in with your doctor, they will help you determine your next month's weekly dosage amount.
